Loving one another is as important today as it was when Christ walked the earth. During this time of political divisiveness and economic uncertainty, the Lord expects His disciples to act with kindness and show understanding and love to all of God’s children, no matter their opinions and perspectives.  

President Dallin H. Oaks counseled that as followers of Christ, we must forgo the anger and hatred with which political choices are debated or denounced in many settings, and love our enemies. He said: "The Savior’s teaching to love our enemies is based on the reality that all mortals are beloved children of God."
